How do I schedule my first appointment?

To schedule an appointment, call us at 979-398-6018 or complete the form on our Contact page.

How long is each counseling session?

Each session is 50 minutes. Client care is our top priority, so starting and ending on time is important. While the nature of counseling sometimes requires flexibility, we strive to keep any variance within 5 minutes to ensure each client receives the proper care and attention.

What is your approach to therapy?

Our approach is collaborative. While we are mental health experts, we consider you the expert on your life. Our role is to work alongside you to help you reach a healthy place of hope and well-being. Since each client is unique, our approach is tailored to best suit your needs. Generally, we use person-centered, strengths-based therapy to achieve meaningful change quickly while providing you with skills to continue using in the future.

What is the client portal?

The client portal is a HIPAA-compliant platform used by Rise Counseling Services for paperless client forms and secure communication. Rest assured that all information shared is private and secure.

What can I expect during my first counseling session?

We understand that taking this first step can bring some nervousness—this is completely normal! Our first meeting is more of a "getting to know you" session. We want to hear your story, discuss what brings you to counseling, explore any past experiences with mental health services, and understand what you hope to achieve through counseling.

Who do you work with?

We work with adolescents (12 years and older), adults, couples, and families.

What is your cancellation policy?

We require a minimum of 24-hour notice for cancellations. Your scheduled session is time reserved specifically for you. Please provide adequate notice so that other clients on the waitlist may have the opportunity to be seen. For cancellations with less than 24-hour notice or for no-shows, a $50 fee will be charged. Future appointments cannot be scheduled until your account is settled. Exceptions due to extenuating circumstances are at the discretion of the therapist.

What is telehealth?

Telehealth allows us to conduct "virtual" therapy sessions via video or phone. To ensure your privacy, our video sessions are offered through our secure, HIPAA-compliant client portal.
